İrem Sadıkoğlu, who leads the finance teams within TOGG, the global technology brand serving in the field of mobility in Turkey, has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Sadıkoğlu, who previously served for 7 years at Price Waterhouse Cooper, 2 years at Yıldız Holding, 3 years at UNO and 2 years at Hotel Suadiye, has been a part of TOGG since 2020. Sadıkoğlu, who has more than 16 years of experience in the field of finance and operations such as company acquisitions, mergers and public offerings, in the automobile, retail, production and service sectors of multinational enterprises in Turkey and the USA, is a graduate of ITU Management Engineering.

Erginbilgic graduated from ITU Management Engineering. He completed his master's degree at Boğaziçi University in 1986 and his doctorate in Economics from Ohio State University in 1989. After working at Mobil Oil between 1990-1997, he held managerial positions in different levels of BP for more than 20 years. The British company Rolls-Royce, which has managed to make a name for itself with the ultra-luxury cars it has designed, will entrust the number one seat of the company to Tufan Erginbilgic as of 2023.

DeFacto, one of the fast-growing fashion brands in recent years with its remarkable communication strategy, brought our graduate Önder Şenol to the position of DeFacto Online CEO. DeFacto, which closed 2021 with a turnover of 7.5 billion TL with its more than three hundred stores, chose a successful business engineer like many other companies for this senior manager role, which is critical for its growth and profitability.
Önder Şenol, who has both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Management Engineering, started his professional career in 1996 as a business analyst at Karon & ICE Securities. After that, Şenol worked in different departments at Turkcell Group between 1999 and 2006, and was appointed as the CFO of Turkcell Superonline in 2006. Şenol, who also serves as the vice president of the Human Management Association of Turkey (PERYÖN), started his new position at DeFacto on Februray, 2022. Professor Oral Erdoğan, who gets a degree from M.Sc. and Ph.D. from our department, was appointed as the Rector of Piri Reis University on May 21, 2014. Before completing his master's degree in our department, Erdoğan graduated from the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at ITU. During his thesis studies, he did research at the City University in England and the State University of West Georgia in the USA.
Erdoğan worked as an engineer and chief engineer in the Turkish Maritime Enterprises between 1990-1994, and as an expert in the establishment of the research directorate at the Borsa İstanbul between 1994-2001. Between 2001-2013, he worked as a faculty member and the founder and director of finance graduate programs at Bilgi University.
Erdogan's research has been published in leading scientific journals such as Review of Finance, International Review of Economics & Finance, Quantitative Finance, International Review of Applied Financial Issues and Economics, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, Journal of Economic Literature, Emerald Contemporary Studies in Economic and Financial Analysis. In addition to his academic duties, he served as a consultant to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.We wish Erdogan success in his duty as the rector of Piri Reis University, which is an expert in the field of maritime and aims to be among the leading universities in the world.

Hami Cilara, who has been working as General Manager at BEGUM KHAN since September 2022, prior to this position, served as Marketing Specialist at Anadolu Efes; Assistant Auditor at Anadolu Sigorta; Marketing and Sales Area Coordinator and then Manager at Koç Holding; Marketing Group Manager at LC Waikiki; Segment Marketing Manager and Channel Strategy Development Manager at TurkTelekom. Cilara served as Marketing and Communications Director to manage a unit that undertakes brand and communication management, strategic marketing, CRM and digital marketing tasks of Aydınlı Group, which manages famous fashion brands such as Pierre Cardin, Cacharel and U.S. Polo Assn. Our graduate Evrim Hizaler has been appointed as the General Manager of ADEL Kalemcilik, one of the leading names in the Turkish writing, drawing and painting products market. Hizaler, who started her duty in April 2012, is also a graduate of Bornova Anatolian High School, which sends many graduates to our department. Hizaler, who started to work as a marketing specialist at Efes Turkey in 1997, was appointed as the Marketing Director of the Efes Beer Group after serving at various levels. Hizaler is still a member of Arya Investment Platform. We congratulate our graduate and wish her continued success.

ODEA Bank transferred Hüseyin Özkaya, CEO of HSBC Russia, as the General Manager.
Hüseyin Özkaya, who graduated from ITU Management Engineering Department in 1985, completed his master's degree at the University of Wisconsin between 1986-1987. He started his career in the Budget, Accounting, and Consolidation Department at Akbank between 1987 and 1988, and continued as Assistant Manager in the Credit and Marketing Department at İmpexbank Istanbul.
He worked as Marketing and Corporate Banking Manager at Midland Bank Turkey (HSBC Bank Inc.) between 1991 and 1993, and as Capital Markets Sales Manager at Midland Global Markets in 1994. In January 1995, he was appointed as the Assistant General Manager of Marketing and Corporate Banking at HSBC Bank Inc. Between October 30, 2001, and December 19, 2001, he served as a Member of the Board of Directors and Deputy General Manager of Corporate, Commercial, and International Banking at Demirbank Inc., which was acquired by HSBC Bank Inc.
He was appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors of HSBC Bank Inc. on March 22, 1995. Before being appointed as the CEO of HSBC, Russia, Özkaya was the Executive Vice President of Corporate and Investment Banking and a Member of the Board of Directors at HSBC Turkey.

Orhan, a graduate of ITU Management Engineering, previously worked in Zurich Insurance Company as Product-Customer and Business Development Manager and Marketing Manager. Sinan Özkök, who took a senior position at Nissan Motor Corporation, was brought to this position in June 2019. Özkök, a graduate of ITU Management Engineering, started his career at OYAK Renault in 1993. Continuing his career at Renault Mais in 2015, Sinan Özkök was the Sales and Network Director of Renault before being appointed to Nissan Turkey and Nissan Motor Corporation. Çiler Ay, Co-Founder of CBOT and Smart Moderation, is a 2002 graduate of ITU Management Engineering. CBOT is a leading Conversational AI company that is operating in financial services, e-commerce, telecoms and customer services sectors and focuses on enhancing customer experience via Conversational AI Bots and Virtual Assistants to meet business goals, particularly goals around increasing customer loyalty and revenue. Ay started her rrofessional carrier at VeriPark, as Marketing Management Trainee. She also served at Intel Corporation, SHV Gas Turkey, Doluca Wine Company, Vakıfbank at several levels. Our graduate Can Deldağ has been appointed as the Co-Chair of the Carlyle Group, Turkey, Middle East and North Africa Fund. Before this appointment, Can Deldağ was managing Carlyle's investments in Turkey. With the appointment, Deldağ will lead the management of Carlyle's MENA Fund together with fellow co-chairman Firas Nasir. The Carlyle MENA Fund was established by the Carlyle Group in 2009 and has made a total of five investments so far, three in Turkey by Deldağ and two in the Gulf countries by Nasir. Some of these investments are Bahçeşehir College, Alamar Foods and Medical Park Hospitals. Can Deldağ joined Carlyle in 2007 to manage the company's investment activities in Turkey. Prior to Carlyle, Deldağ served as Head of Turkey Corporate Finance Department and Head of Southeast Europe Acquisition and Merger Services at Ernst and Young, where he was a Senior Partner and Member of the Board of Directors. Deldağ, who was previously the managing partner of Arthur Andersen, managed the company's Turkey and Balkans Region Purchasing and Merger Consultancy services. After graduating from ITU Department of Management Engineering in 1995, he started his career in the Banking and Finance sector at Koçbank. In 1995, Önder joined Koc Financial Services - Koclease start-up team and left the company after working as the Head of Treasury from 2001 to 2004. Following Kocbank-Unicredit and Unicredit – YKB merge transactions, Önder joined Doğuş Group as the Director of Finance at Tansaş Retail Group. Önder continued his position for 2 years and played an important role in the merger and acquisition process with Migros. In 2006, Onder joined TÜVTURK and was appointed as the CFO in 2011. He has been working as the CEO and Member of the Board of Directors at vdf Group since October 1, 2021.

Serdal Mermer, who studied Management Engineering at Istanbul Technical University, worked as a Financial Auditor, Consultant, and SAP Group Manager in different companies such as Novartis, Doğan Group Companies, T-Systems Turkey, SAP Turkey, Bimsa, and Elsys before NTT DATA.
After graduating from Private Middle East High School in 1992, Serdal Mermer received his undergraduate degree in Management Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and gained his first work experience as a Planning Assistant at Novartis. From 1998 until 2011, when Mermer joined Elsys, he worked as a financial supervisor, SAP consultant, and manager in many companies such as Doğan Group Companies, T-Systems Turkey, and SAP Turkey. After fulfilling the duty of Consulting and Support Center Manager at Bimsa, he started to work at Elsys in 2011 as Business Analytics and Technology Director. Serdal Mermer, who worked as General Manager at Itelligence Analytics, joined NTT DATA Business Solutions Turkey in 2021 as General Manager.

After graduating from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Management Engineering in 2000, Meltem Cebeci started her career at Vodafone as a Product Manager. She later worked as a Product Manager at Arçelik, and Category Manager at Sony Ericsson. She was appointed as Millenicom Turkey Marketing Director in 2011. She started to work as a Product Manager and Business Development Director at D-Smart in 2016. In 2019, she joined TurkNet Communication Services as Chief Business Officer. She has been working as a freelance Business Consultant since 2021.

Mehtap Alp, a graduate of ITU Management Engineering, is currently working in the Marketing & Digital Transformation unit at Mutfak Sanatları Akademisi (Culinary Arts Academy). Alp, who previously worked as Deputy General Manager at Morhipo and D&R, started her career at Boyner Büyük Mağazacılık A.Ş. in 2002. She served as Data Analysis Manager between 2002 and 2003, Marketing Group Manager between 2003 and 2004, Market Research and Development Manager between 2004 and 2006, and Marketing Manager between 2006 and 2011. Alp, who previously worked at Vakko, is an expert in the fields of market development, CRM, advertising and public relations and corporate sales units. One of our Management Engineering graduates, Dr. Murat Üngör, who works in the field of economics at the Research Department of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, won the 2011 award given by TEPAV in memory of Professor Dr. Merih Celasun and the Celasun Family Special Award for his study "Agricultural Productivity and Growth in Turkey".
Based on the determination that “The ratio of national income per capita in Turkey to national income per capita in Greece, Portugal, and Spain decreased from 73% in 1960 to 50% in 1977 and remained at this level until recent years”, the study reveals that Turkey's growth analyzes its experience with a multi-sectoral model and finds that a key factor in the country's performance problems stems from weak productivity increases in the agricultural sector. The study, which discusses the reasons for the low productivity increases in the agricultural sector in Turkey, presents various preliminary findings regarding the factors that reduce productivity in this area.

İbrahim Sinan Ak, a 1995 graduate of our department, has been the CEO of Zorlu Energy Group since 2016. After his undergraduate education, Ak completed his MBA at the USA Old Dominion University. İbrahim Sinan Ak, who joined Zorlu Group in 2000, worked as Finance Chief at Vestel Communications between 2000-2002 and Finance Manager at Vestel Beyaz Eşya between 2002-2006. He joined Zorlu Energy Group in 2006. Ak, served as the Deputy General Manager between 2006 and 2012 and General Manager for 5 years between 2012 and 2016.
